Kindle Paperwhite (2024 model) 16GB – 7" Glare-Free Display with Adjustable Warm Light (Without Ads, Black)

Our Verdict

This is the same 2024 Paperwhite as our With Ads catalogue listing, minus the sponsored offers that the cheaper version shows on its lock screen. You get the 7-inch, 300 ppi glare-free screen, an adjustable warm light that turns the page amber for reading in bed, IPX8 waterproofing for the bath or a wet beach day, and Amazon’s figure of up to 12 weeks per charge, based on half an hour of reading a day. It weighs 211g, so it is noticeably bigger and heavier than the basic Kindle, but far easier to read at large font sizes. Note that the listing title calls it the “newest gen”, while a redesigned Paperwhite was on pre-order on Amazon.ie for November 2026 when we checked, so check which generation you are buying. It cannot borrow Irish library ebooks, and there is no plug in the box.
