Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026: the key dates

Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November. Black Friday is always the day after the US Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday of November), and Cyber Monday is the Monday after. In practice, though, the Amazon sale period lasts much longer than one day.

Amazon hasn’t announced its 2026 Black Friday dates yet. As a guide, in 2025 Amazon UK ran a 12-day Black Friday Week from 20 November to 1 December (Cyber Monday). If 2026 follows the same pattern, expect deals from around Thursday 19 or Friday 20 November until Cyber Monday. We will update this page once Amazon.ie confirms its own dates.

Amazon’s October Prime Big Deal Days ran on 6–7 October 2026. If you missed it, October prices are useful as a benchmark. If something you want was cheaper in early October, a Black Friday price that is merely "good" may not be the best you can get.

How to tell a real discount from a dressed-up price

The most useful thing to know is that Irish law sets the reference point for a sale price. Since the EU Omnibus Directive was transposed into Irish law (S.I. No. 597 of 2022), a trader that announces a price reduction must show the prior price, meaning the lowest price it charged in at least the 30 days before the reduction. This is set out in the CCPC’s price reductions guidance. In practice, this means:

  • A one-day price spike doesn’t count. The CCPC is clear that a trader can’t raise a price briefly and then quote it as the "was" price, because it was not the lowest price in the previous 30 days.
  • Staged reductions use the original reference. If a price is cut in steps during one sales campaign, the prior price stays the lowest price in the 30 days before the first cut.
  • Wording like "special offer" or "sale price" counts. The rules apply even when no percentage or euro amount is shown.
  • An RRP is not the same as a prior price. "RRP" or "list price" compares against a manufacturer’s suggested price, which the item may never actually have sold for. A reduction against the seller’s own recent price is the more meaningful number.

Price-history trackers can help, but check that the one you use actually covers Amazon.ie. The Irish store only launched in March 2025, and coverage of it varies between tools. Screenshots of a product page taken a few weeks before the sale are a low-tech way to keep your own record.

Other warning signs are a "deal" on an older model when the newer version is barely more expensive; bundles where the extra item is something you would never buy; and countdown timers on items that turn up at the same price again a few days later. If you think a price reduction is misleading, you can report it to the CCPC.

Which categories usually see the biggest Amazon discounts

We won’t guess at specific 2026 deals before they are announced. Past Amazon sale events do show a consistent pattern, though, and it is a good basis for a shortlist.

  • Amazon’s own devices. Kindle e-readers, Fire TV sticks, Echo speakers and Ring doorbells have been among the most heavily promoted lines in Amazon’s past events, often at their lowest prices of the year. See our smart home and streaming guide and tablets and e-readers guide.
  • Headphones and earbuds. Premium noise-cancelling models are regularly discounted, particularly the outgoing generation once a successor is on sale. See best headphones.
  • Small kitchen appliances. Air fryers, coffee machines and multi-cookers from big brands are frequent Black Friday lines. See air fryers and coffee machines.
  • Cordless vacuums and personal care. Stick vacuums, electric toothbrushes and IPL devices often have large headline reductions. Check these against the 30-day prior price, because RRPs in these categories tend to be high.
  • Computer accessories. Chargers, power banks, SSDs and mice are good value but rarely dramatic. Buy them when you need them rather than waiting.

Our Black Friday watchlist

These are products from our catalogue that are worth tracking between now and Cyber Monday. Every one is sold and dispatched by Amazon.ie, and each card shows the price we last checked and the date. That gives you a baseline to compare any Black Friday price against. We only list domestic stock, for reasons explained in why we only list Amazon.ie stock.

Christmas delivery: don’t leave it to the last minute

Amazon.ie publishes its last order dates for Christmas delivery in December, and we won’t guess them here. Check Amazon.ie’s own Christmas delivery information once it is live, and treat the dates as the latest possible point rather than a target. Prime delivery from Amazon.ie stock is typically next-day in most areas, but couriers are busiest in the week before Christmas, and rural addresses and islands can take longer.

  • Buy bulky or expensive gifts during the Black Friday window. That leaves time to deal with a damaged or wrong item.
  • Check the seller line before you pay. Marketplace sellers dispatching from outside Ireland have their own delivery times and cut-offs.
  • If a gift is going to someone else’s address, check whether the listing allows gift wrapping or a gift receipt at checkout.
  • Charge and test electronics when they arrive, not on Christmas morning. A faulty unit found early is a simple return.

Returns over Christmas: your rights and Amazon’s policy

Two separate things protect you. The first is the law. For most goods bought online from an EU trader, you have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel, starting from the day you receive the item, and you remain protected against faulty goods well beyond that (Citizens Information explains the details). The second is Amazon’s own returns policy, which goes further than the legal minimum for most items.

In recent years Amazon has extended its returns window over the holidays. In Amazon’s UK and US stores, for example, most items bought between 1 November and 31 December could be returned until 31 January, with exceptions for some categories such as Apple products. We have not been able to confirm the 2026 terms for Amazon.ie at the time of writing. Check the returns information on Amazon.ie, or the return deadline shown in Your Orders, before relying on a late-January return.

A simple Black Friday game plan

  1. Now: write a shortlist and record today’s prices (our product cards show the price we checked and the date).
  2. Decide between close rivals before the sale, using our guides and comparisons, so you aren’t rushed by a timer.
  3. Sign up to the newsletter or check /deals as Black Friday week begins.
  4. When a deal appears, check the reference price, the seller and the model number (older and newer versions often have near-identical names).
  5. Note the return deadline for each gift, and test electronics as soon as they arrive.

Frequently asked questions

When is Black Friday 2026 in Ireland?

Black Friday is Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November 2026. Amazon usually runs a longer Black Friday event around those dates. In 2025, Amazon UK’s Black Friday Week ran from 20 November to 1 December. Amazon.ie hadn’t announced its 2026 dates at the time of writing.

Are Amazon.ie Black Friday discounts real?

Many are, but check. Under Irish rules a trader announcing a reduction must show the prior price, meaning the lowest price it charged in at least the previous 30 days, so a brief price spike can’t be used as the "was" price. Be more cautious with comparisons against an RRP, and compare with prices you recorded in October.

Is it better to buy during Prime Big Deal Days or Black Friday?

It depends on the product. Amazon’s own devices often reach similar low prices in both events, while other brands vary. Prime Big Deal Days ran on 6–7 October 2026, so use those prices as a benchmark. If Black Friday doesn’t beat them, there is no reason to rush.

Can I return Black Friday purchases after Christmas?

Amazon has extended its returns window over the holidays in previous years, typically until 31 January for most items bought in November and December, with some exceptions. We haven’t confirmed the 2026 Amazon.ie terms, so check the return deadline shown on your order. The statutory 14-day cooling-off period runs from delivery, so it often ends before Christmas.

What is the last date to order from Amazon.ie for Christmas delivery?

Amazon.ie publishes its Christmas last order dates in December, and they can differ by delivery option and seller. Check Amazon.ie’s Christmas delivery information once it is published, and aim to order well before the cut-off, especially for rural addresses or items from marketplace sellers.
