This is the mat to buy if most of your workout happens on the floor: sit-ups, planks, glute bridges, Pilates-style core work, stretching and anything that puts your knees or spine on a hard surface. At 2.5cm it is far thicker than a standard 4–6mm yoga mat, which makes a real difference on a tiled kitchen floor or thin carpet over concrete, and it rolls up with a shoulder strap so it can live behind a door. The trade-off is that thick, soft foam feels unstable for standing yoga poses and balance work, and it is no use under heavy weights. Amazon’s own instructions say to unroll it and let it air out somewhere well ventilated for at least 48 hours before first use, and owner feedback often mentions a smell when it is new, so give it a couple of days by an open window.
