Independent Editorial Assessment

Our Verdict

The GRID is a familiar sight in gyms and club dressing rooms, and its design has barely changed in years. A rigid core inside means it keeps its shape instead of flattening like a cheap all-foam roller, and the raised grid pattern on the outside gives a mix of firmer and softer zones. At 33cm long it suits calves, hamstrings, quads, glutes and the upper back, and it is short enough to throw in a kit bag. This is the standard density version, which is the one to start with; TriggerPoint also makes firmer versions for experienced users. The drawback of the short length is that it is less stable for lying along your spine than a long 90cm roller.
