Brabantia HangOn Laundry Drying Rack, 20m (Metallic Grey) – Foldaway Stainless Steel Clothes Horse with Drying Platform

Our Verdict

A clothes horse is the cheapest part of drying indoors, and it is the part people most often get wrong: an overloaded rack with towels folded double will sit damp for a day whatever else you do. The HangOn spreads a load out properly. Its 20 metres of line holds up to two machine loads by Brabantia’s figure, the wings adjust so sheets and long trousers hang clear of the floor, and six hooks take shirts and blouses on hangers. The flat platform suits wool jumpers and anything else that should dry flat. A transport lock lets you move it full of washing from the kitchen to the drying room, and it folds to about 5cm deep for the gap behind a door. The catch is width: at about 126cm across it needs a reasonable floor space, so in a box room measure first or look at a tower airer instead. It is not heated, which suits a dehumidifier set-up: the dehumidifier does the drying and the rack keeps the clothes spread out.
