Independent Editorial Assessment

Our Verdict

Short-game practice saves a beginner more strokes than anything else, and this is about the cheapest way to do it at home. The Longridge net pops up in seconds into a round target and folds down to about 28cm square to slide under a bed or into the boot. Longridge designs it for indoor or outdoor use. It is a target for chipping, not a net for full swings: chip into it from a few metres with a wedge, use foam or plastic practice balls indoors, and keep real balls for the garden, well away from windows. At around 0.3kg it can blow over in a breeze, so weigh the base down. It is an easy stocking filler for a new golfer.
