Independent Editorial Assessment

Our Verdict

This is a simple, inexpensive way to practise putting on the landing or in the living room, and because it comes with a collapsible putter and a ball it works as a complete gift for someone who does not own a putter yet. The mat is about 1.8m long, with a slight incline up to the hole, a target flag and printed sand and water hazards. Be realistic about what it does: 1.8m is short, so it is best for grooving a smooth stroke and holing the short putts that beginners miss most, not for practising pace on long putts, and the slope to the hole makes it play differently from a real green. The included putter is fine for the mat, but once you play regularly use your own putter on it. The training DVD is a period piece, as many homes no longer have a DVD player.
