Most Switch 2 cases carry the console alone. This one, from Nintendo, is built to carry the whole TV set-up: the console, the dock, the Joy-Con 2, the cables and up to six game cards, according to Nintendo. That matters more after an upgrade than it did before, because the original Switch dock does not work with the Switch 2, so if the console moves between the living room and a bedroom TV, a holiday home or the grandparents’ house, the dock has to go with it (or you buy a second Switch 2 Dock Set). It is far bulkier than a slim travel case, at roughly 25cm square and 17cm deep, and it costs several times as much, so it only makes sense if you regularly bring the dock. For the console alone, a slim case such as Belkin’s is the better buy.
