Independent Editorial Assessment

Our Verdict

The Ticket to Ride city editions squeeze the series into a small box and a short game, and Paris is one of them. You collect coloured cards, use them to claim bus routes between Parisian landmarks and score points for the Destination Tickets you complete, which is the same core idea as the full-size Ticket to Ride Europe. Days of Wonder pitches it as a fast game of around 15 minutes, so it works as a taster for a family that is not sure it wants a longer board game, or as a quick one for two after the dinner. It is standalone, so you do not need a base game. The trade-off is depth: the map is small, it takes four players at most, and there is less long-term planning than in the full-size versions.
