Why We Recommend This

An arm-worn heart-rate sensor that sits more securely than a wrist tracker in classes, intervals and spin.

Independent Editorial Assessment

Our Verdict

Wrist trackers are good at daily trends but less reliable when your heart rate jumps around quickly, as it does in spin, HIIT, circuits or five-a-side, because the band shifts and the wrist flexes. The TICKR FIT moves the sensor to your forearm, where a stretchy strap holds it firmly, and many people find it more comfortable than a chest strap. It broadcasts over both Bluetooth and ANT+, so it can feed live heart rate to a GPS watch, a phone app or a bike computer, and Wahoo quotes up to 30 hours per charge from a USB cable. It is a sensor rather than a tracker: you still need a watch, phone or bike computer to record the session, so check that yours accepts an external heart-rate sensor before buying.
