Independent Editorial Assessment

Our Verdict

Most budget bands borrow your phone’s GPS. The Band 11 Pro has its own satellite positioning, so you can leave the phone at home on a run, walk or cycle and still come back with a route, distance and pace. That is the reason to choose it over a cheaper band. The 1.62-inch AMOLED is bright (Huawei quotes up to 2000 nits), the aluminium case is under 9mm thick, and sleep tracking adds average overnight heart-rate variability alongside heart rate and SpO2. Huawei quotes up to 8 days of regular use, or about 3 days if you switch on the always-on display. The catch is the software. Set-up runs through the Huawei Health app, which on Android may need to be installed from Huawei’s own AppGallery rather than Google Play, and Huawei’s app ecosystem is more closed than Garmin’s or Apple’s. Huawei is clear that the health features, including the arrhythmia alerts, are for reference only and not a medical device, and that feature is not intended for under-18s.
