Our Verdict

Xiaomi’s Smart Band has been the default cheap fitness tracker for years, and the Smart Band 10 keeps the formula: a slim band with a bright 1.72-inch AMOLED screen, step, heart-rate and sleep tracking, and a battery Xiaomi rates at up to 21 days of normal use. That last point matters more than any feature, because a tracker that is always on your wrist gives you far better sleep and activity trends than one sitting on a charger every second night. Swim tracking gets an electronic compass and in-water heart rate, the 5ATM rating covers the pool and a dip in the sea, and the touchscreen is designed to cope with damp fingers. It pairs with Android phones and iPhones through Xiaomi’s free app, with no subscription. The limits are what you would expect at this level: it shows notifications rather than letting you reply, and for accurate route maps and pace on outdoor runs it relies on your phone, so if you want to leave the phone at home, the Huawei Band 11 Pro or a GPS watch suits better.
