Our Verdict

Creator 3in1 sets are some of the best value in LEGO, because the box contains instructions for three different models and children can take one apart to build the next. This is one of the larger ones: 626 pieces that make a poseable T. rex, with a movable jaw, head, tail, arms and legs, or a Triceratops or a Pterodactyl instead. That means three builds from one present, and dinosaurs appeal right across the 9-to-12 range. Only one model can be built at a time, so a child who wants all three on display will be disappointed, and the 9+ label is about right: a keen seven- or eight-year-old will probably need an adult on hand for parts of it.
